Lyric from Steely Dan:
"Gold Teeth II."
I am a Licensed Professional Engineer and a Registered Patent Agent. My work is in two general areas, product safety and intellectual property.
Read this brief overview of United States Patents for answers to basic patenting questions. I am available for Patent Application and Prosecution. Besides professional CE Marking and Product Safety services, I am also quite capable in the areas of process troubleshooting and product cost reduction.
U.S. Supreme Court decisions relating to patents are available at Findlaw, using a search on the word 'PATENT'. Serious students will also query the CAFC decisions (Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit) at Emory University's listing of case decisions.
Other excellent Intellectual Property sites on the internet are Oppedahl & Larson's Patent Law Web page at http://www.patents.com and Jeff Kuester's http://www.kuesterlaw.com/.
See Product Safety and Intellectual Property links (not maintained) for many more useful sites.
During the summer of 1996, I took several Intellectual Property classes at The Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord, New Hampshire.
I offer my law school Class Outlines here for your use.
I earned a BSME from Valparaiso University, in Valparaiso, Indiana, in 1977. Other alumni are listed here, why not look for some of your school chums with Alumni Net?
I am an enthusiastic and unapologetic advocate
for responsible personal independence.
Society benefits when
individuals embrace personal independence and responsibility.
Therefore, my political bent is libertarian, which withstands criticism. I tend to vote Republican while holding my nose, but I think most members of and subscribers to the Democratic and Republican parties are enemies of responsible personal independence, and are intellectual lightweights, thieves, liars, vandals or cheats. I used to enjoy the intelligent discussion of timely news at FreeRepublic, but its signal to noise ratio has turned from awful to intolerable, and the atmosphere is polarized. Great fun for casual flaming though!
Now I get my news from The Washington Times and a selection of favorite blogs that matches my news interests. Of those, I give strong preference to http://howappealing.law.com/ and http://jurist.law.pitt.edu/paperchase/ for breaking news; and ScotusBlog and ConfirmThem for my "specialty interests."
The Federalist Society and Center-Right sites are also interesting and informative.
Generally, I keep my moral pontification to myself. But, all work and no play makes for a dull boy, and this Conspiracy site, and this Anti-World-Government site are places I go to stoke my sceptical nature. An honest person will admit that even the tabloids are accurate on occasion.
Before I switched to Linux, I used Fred Brucker's
{COMMO}, the premier DOS telecom application, as my terminal
program. {COMMO} is totally configurable, agile, and fast.
Assembly language is alive and well! You can get the latest
release of {COMMO} and many {COMMO} accessories via ftp in the
COMMO directory at www.nlbbs.com.
I have been running Linux since 1998, with great success. It has a steep learning curve, but the power, flexibility and reliability make it well worth the effort. I have kissed Microsoft goodbye, and you can too.
My favorite beer is Shipyard Brewing Company's Fuggles IPA.
The Thumper Page is a place that contains information about four stroke single cylinder motorcycles, of which I have a 1978 Yamaha SR500, serial number 2J2000385. I have wondered, "is that a really low number?" Loads of Fun!
I did this once (or twice) for real, and was almost caught for too many people on a motorcycle. No, I didn't have the kids on the motorcycle, it was me and other crazy young men.
My other vehicle is a 1986
Honda CRX Si.
Some other physics sites are: The Physics Page and AIP Weekly Physics News.
Some information relating to neutrinos (they have mass!) can be found at Super-Kamiokande at the University of Hawai'i.
You will find some of my other interests at (unmaintained) Chuck's personal links.
My email address is cboldt@nlis.net.
