Improves The Capacity of Antibody or Antigen Coated Microwells

OptaCOATtm is an optimized antibody diluent buffer composed of both electrolyte and non-electrolyte constituents which have been formulated to enhance antibody or antigen uptake on charged, hydrophobic, polystyrene microwell surfaces.
Polystyrene binds antibody via electrolytic and hydrophobic principles. OptaCOAT has been developed to take advantage of both principles so as to assure maximum functional antibody coatings and consequential maximum antibody capture capacity.
Typically, sensitivity of an assay may be extended 2-10 times without affecting specificity when OptaCOAT is used as the antibody diluent prior to coating.
Comparative microwell coatings were extensively tested using well know alternative, well known antibody diluent buffers@ 100ul/well, 11ug/ml antibody concentration using both monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies. In all cases OptaCOAT out performed alternative buffers.
OptaCOAT is also available as OptaCOAT Gold which incorporates colloidal gold particles as a nano-particle intermediary. Antigen or Antibody bind both to the microwell surface and to the colloidal gold which in turn also binds as a antigen or antibody complex to the microwell surface. This effectively further increases well capacity and stereoscopic expression of functionality as either antigen or antibody.
